Although this sequel sacrifices some of the novelty value of its predecessor, it is still one of the most purely enjoyable games I have played all year. Rendering Luke Skywalker and all the Star Wars heroes as animated Lego figures is cute fun, but without the accompanying wit of animation and playfully mumbled dialogue it would just be a gimmick. Better still, the gameplay is excellent.

Starting off in the Mos Eisley cantina, you embark on a quest to relive the storyline of the first three films. En route, you get to wield light sabres, drive speeders and solve tricky puzzles. Completing levels unlocks new characters and abilities, allowing you to return to earlier levels and explore the hidden sectors within. You could play straight through this game in a few hours, or dally with it for days. Therein lies its brilliance.
