We've made some changes
to The Sunday Times

[Beware: spoilers]
Homer Simpson, the oafish paterfamilias of America’s favourite dysfunctional family, emerges from his big-screen debut a bona fide Hollywood action hero.
At the start of The Simpsons Movie Homer’s dreams of glory are limited to helping his new pet pig to walk upside down on the ceiling while singing “Spiderpig, Spiderpig” to the Spider-Man theme song.
But when the adopted swine gets him into bigger trouble than even this celebrated screw-up has ever experienced before, he falls under the influence of a chesty Native American woman he calls “Boob Lady” and undergoes an uncharacteristic epiphany that galvanizes him into action for the good of his by-now estranged clan.
By the time the witty final credits roll, Homer outshines even Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has been elected president and ordered great harm done to Homer’s home town.
The Hollywood action theme helps the hit cartoon series, after 18 seasons on television, to land its death-defying leap to the big screen with panache. The result is a postmodern parable about an environmental scare that is at the same time hilarious and horrifyingly poignant. But thanks to an unexpected glimpse of Bart’s genitalia, this is a postmodern parable with a “pickle shot”.
The film boasts the same sly cultural references and flashes of brilliance that have earned the television series a following that ranges from tots to comparative literature PhDs. Despite its clownishness and childish graphics, it still offers searing insights into the pathetic human condition.
When the residents of Springfield learn that they are confronting catastrophe, for instance, the panicked occupants of the bar and the next-door church pour out into the street and change places — the drinkers taking solace in religion and the religious finding comfort in drink.
But the movie will be equally satisfying to those who just find it funny that Homer wants to kiss his pet pig — or laugh at Marge pondering the (literally) weighty issue of the pig’s “leavings”, or excrement.
Early on The Simpsons team shows their nerve by making Homer wonder out loud why anyone would pay to buy a cinema ticket to watch what they could see on TV free — the underlying question of the whole big-screen adaptation. In Homer’s view, anyone who pays for cinema tickets to watch a TV show is a sucker. Jabbing his finger at the audience, he declares: “Particularly you!”
What you get for your money is the Simpsons on an epic scale. The familiar, if geographically indeterminate, territory of Springfield is suddenly transformed into a cross between The Truman Show and Escape from New York, with a Big Brother government conspiring to keep all its unruly residents in line until it can be bombed into a “new Grand Canyon” tourist attraction.
The middle section, set in Alaska, lags because of the absence of the familiar props of the Simpsons’ home town. I found myself longing for Homer and his tribe to return to wreak more havoc on their neighbours, particularly the long-suffering Flanders.
But the film ends with a tense second-by-second countdown that fully exploits the bathos of that schlump Homer becoming an action star able save the world, or at least his little part of it. The conventions of the “disaster flick” allow The Simpsons’ left-leaning creator, Matt Groening, to indulge his politics with wry warnings of environmental doom without boring us out of our mustard-yellow skin.
Lisa, Homer and Marge’s swotty daughter, has become an ardent environmentalist who makes an Al Gore-style presentation entitled “An Irritating Truth” to the local populace.
In the same spirit, this film could have been subtitled: “An Inconvenient Cartoon”.

I've been waiting years for the simpsons family to finally hit the big screen, and when it did, I thought it was absolutley amazin'! It's about time that they thought of somethin' new, 'cause 'the simpsons' is getting a bit too old now. I did think that nearer the middle it got a bit boring to sit through, but you've got to admit, spider pig was very amusing!
Olivia , Newcastle, England
It's a cartoon for crying out loud. Spend the $8 to watch it on the big screen, relax and enjoy 90 minutes of what is probably the most famous family in history. If all you can do is bitch and complain about the always entertaining simpson family then you've got bigger issues that need to be dealt with. This movie is lighthearted fun... enjoy it.
Local Dog, Thunder Bay, Canada
i guess the movie was ok. recently i have lost my interest in the simpsons over all. i used to be a fan but to me they have lost there funny. i did enjoy he movie though. personaly i think the show is getting old, and is not entertaining anymore. the simpsons have been on tv for too long!
gab z, philly, usa, PA

Ok, could have have been better..prettyg good though, more of a storyl line then most episodes though. 7/10, sorry for the bad typing, this keyboard sux

At just under and 1 hour and 30 minutes, I did find The Simpsons a little too long for the content and storyline. That said, it was generally funny, with the usual political quips we've come to expect from Matt Groening. I wouldn't class myself as a fan, but I have found previous episodes of The Simpsons hilarious, and each time I've watched one i've been impressed with the level of humour and the fact that the producers aren't scared to draw humour from delicate subject matter. Overall, an enjoyable movie, but I think it's a safer bet to confine the residents of Springfield to their TV roots.

i think it was good i really liked it. it was funny
lena meyer, Darwin, Australia
very disappointing
i have seen funnier episodes, and the film just seemed like a bunch of things they had written and thrown away just recovered and fused together.
there was also a lot of hype for this movie, and i think that's why it is disappointing, because it wasn't as great as people made it out to be.
Ben Tyler, Lincolnshire, england
Perhaps it may have been a case of 'alls well that ends well'. We didn't stay to find out. What we saw only got worse and worse with no hope of getting any better. In my opinion, the writers used the big screen as an excuse to bare all (all of their crass jokes that probably fill their meetings, but they can't put on tv.)
I know it's an "adult" animated show, but please. There were kids in the theater we went to. As expected. We expected a limit on the irreverence, like we see on tv.
Like I said, we didn't stay to see the rest, but the first 10 minutes were filled with kids being disrespectful to adults, Homer being disrespectful in church, to God, and his father, his neighbor, and and and and... enough. Who knows how many kids left thinking all of that is okay.
Shame on the writers for not realizing that people shouldn't always get what they think they want!
Loriann, Detroit,
I went half expecting to be disappointed but I found a lot of it absolutely hilarious.Possibly a weakness was in trying to get a cameo of every character on display leaving the more poignant parts rushed.
Paul, Nottingham, United Kingdom
*sigh* - extremely dissappointing.
I barely laughed at any point during the film - the characters seemed to be so different to the tv series characters.
As mentioned before - Marge's outburst was sad, as was homer giving the finger to a bunch of people.
*plot spoil(ish) start*
I'm sure the Homer doesnt care for family / family punishes homer / homer gets family back template has been followed over and over again before : did we really need it in the movie ?
Spider-pig just wasnt funny in my opinion.
*plot spoil(ish) end*
And what was with all the gay jokes ? i dont find them offensive but again very out of character for the simpsons....are they trying to lean towards family guy for material now ?
Watch it if its on the telly - otherwise avoid :(
Grant, Scotland,
Loved the movie only problem was that it's just 110 min. witch is way to short
Stefan, Geleen, Netherlands
This film was allways for me going to be a let down as I am a huge fan of the TV series.
They could have chopped 45 mins out of the film and then it would have been pure class. Trouble is it would not be a film anymore.
It was in places very boring and most other people have said the same.
To sum it up - not worth seeing at the cinima or DVD. Wait til normal TV shows it at Christmass.
d j bonnett, brierley hill, west midlands
it was great, to all those ppl hu say its sucks well you must not have gotten all the smart little jokes in there like being payed $1000 dollars goin into alaska to be quiet about a company destroying its beauty. im 13 and i got every joke!
sam clarke, Te Awamutu, New Zealand
The film is great!I cant stop singin:
Spider pig,
Spider pig,
Does whatever a spider pig does.
Can he spin,
A spiders web?
No he cant cause hes a pig.
Looookkkk outtttttt,
Here comes Spider pig!
Bethany Martin, Lincolnshire, UK
I thought this movie was funny and cute...until (completely out of character) Marge yells "someone throw the God D@#$ bomb!" I was highly disappointed with this because there are kids all around us watching this movie...it is a cartoon, you know. The movie would have been just fine without it and I thought it cheapened it greatly. The rest of the movie was just flat for me after that. I believe it was uncalled for and I was embarrased for the parents with children in the audience.
Dianne, SHELBYVILLE, Tennessee
I love the series, the movie was bad-I mean a dome?
It was on the right lines but ended up about Homer being a bad Father.
I love the episodes and was expecting big things but got bored in the movie.
The odd jokes were funny and the muskies but the storyline was terrible.
4/10 and I love the simpsons!
Jame, Bristol, UK
(No spoilers are mentioned in this review!)
This movie has a very creative and captivating beginning. I found some parts of this movie to be extremely funny. But as a whole this movie wasn't funny.
But on the contrary, I had an enjoyable time watching this film, despite the fact that it wasn't as funny as I would have hoped. It has a phenomenal plot. I simply couldn't wait to know what would happen next! This movie Is undoubtably worth the eight dollar ticket!
I recommend you watch this film, even if you aren't a Simpsons fan. Thank you for reading my review I hope you do in fact watch this movie.

OMG!! i saw the simpson movie on saturday and i just couldnt believe how Hilarious that was..lol..It was endless laughs for me and i never really watched the simpsons series since i was about 7 yrs old...but when i saw the movie i was suprised!! Endless LAUGHS!!
Chris, las vegas, Nevada
Rather pathetic really, the first hour was plain bad though the last 30 minutes were OK.
Apparently they had 100 rewrites to get to this version.
verdict - rubbish!
brad, sydney, australia
I'm also a fan of the series, but it didn't feature enough of
Springfield, and it characters. And for the first time...i didn't like
Homer! He just wasn't that loveble oaf from the series. I felt bad
for Bart, Maggie, and Lisa. His bad parenting skills were front and center in the film. Bart was actually frighten of Homer.
But over all it had it's moments.
Simmie , Chicago, ILL
Good but not great.
Seemed to focus more on slapstick comedy rather than the sarcasm and witty one-liners which originally drew me to the tv series all those years ago (for example, the spider pig thing, homer falling through the ceiling etc.. seemed to be getting the most laughs).
A lot of secondary characters barely featured.
However, there were a few funny and nostalgic moments.

John, London,
Well ive seen the movie twice, because i had too. i thought that i wouldnt enjoy it the same seein as it had only been 2 days since i saw it, but thankfully i laughed just as much the second time, making me realise just how good it is, ther were so many gags that i had no time to reminisance the next gag, its about as good as the best 4 simpsons episodes put together. The plot wasnt great but i think it was a good issue to focus on, i wil never throw anythin into a lake from this day on. Also we finally find out where springfield is!!!!!!!

It was a great movie, it was very, very funny but it did lack a bit in the average Simpsons storyline, which is why I'm only giving it four stars not five.
Laurence, Rochester, England
Long time fan of the series, this is a very good movie with a lot of laughs. Lived up to my expectations. Can't wait of rthe sequel!! (Maggie said that at the very end during the credits)
Sky Powers, Orlando, Florida
I just say it tonight and I really liked it. Like all good animation (in the vain of Rocky and Bullwinkle), The Simpsons' Movie plays on two levels. The kids would like the slapstick while the movie does make some very critical jabs at government and religion.
Even after 18 seasons, The Simpsons still displays great humor, biting satire, and parody. Good for Matt Groening. The institutions of religion and government both need to be taken down a notch, and yellow animated characters are doing a good job of doing that.
Travis, Austin, Texas, USA
I loved it from start to finish. My children also loved it. I love the television episodes and really was not expecting to like it that much. The spiderpig trailer didn"t ruin anything because in the trailer he doesn't finish the song . The end of the song is the funniest part. I also do not think you can ruin the movie by telling you all about it. I think it was worth the money and I would see it again. lighten up everyone,it's for all ages. I give it 4stars.
Heather Gomez, Moline, Illinois
The movie is fantastic. There are so many funny parts in this movie I find myself not being able to remember every joke and punch line. This is all the more reason to see it again. I wont reveal anything but I like how a scene in the movie was pulled straight out of an episode early on in the TV show. In the TV show Bart is going to jump Springfield gorge but Homer takes his place and jumps it but kind of misses; Falls down the cliff and awaits air evacuation. Homer is lifted to the top of the gorge and is put into an ambulance. This ambulance immediately crashes into a tree and Homer finds himself falling down the gorge a second time. In the movie Springfield gorge is seen along with a tree and crashed ambulance!
If you haven't been watching the Simpsons for a while, you probably wont get every joke seen in the movie.

As Mr. Burns would say:
"EXXXXcellemt:"
Rob, Aliquippa,
I do agree with the comment about the the alaska part of the movie being boring, but the guy who wrote this has gone into far too much detail. Can't you imploy one critic that actually understands cinema and dosn't talk absolute crap!
Ashley Woodward, Wolverhampton, England
Wow, I'm scared to see it now. I thought the trailer for it was very lackluster, and posters are saying that that's the "funniest stuff!" UH-OH, or should I say "D'OH!" I'll see it anyway, so I can have my own opinion. It should still be better than most movies that are out now.
Frank, New York, NY
simpsons fan since day one, and the movie was great, no exceptions! Good Job!!!
Mat, youngsville, nc
This movie was created for families unfortunately. The intelligent humor and black comedy was substituted for slapstick. The elementary school, Moes, the power plant, the church, police station, etc (where all the decent social commentry takes place) only had brief appearences or none at all. The cliffhanger encore (if I can call it that) ended in a very lazy way. Marge's TV message to Homer seemed to go against the whole Simpsons ethos of taking the mick out of soppy TV and film moments.
The animation was nice.
I don't feel that James Bone is enough of a Simpsons geek to realise what a let down this film was.
Christopher Arnold, Watford, England
Hey who ever said that this is the best simpson episode to date are right. because we all know that if any of the other 22 min episodes on tv were strecther out into 85 min shows they would have been just as good. .:) NOT!!!!
Ben Barbera, Scotts Dale , New Mexico
i thought the film was excellent, matt groening has done us proud by not spoiling our love of the simpsons by not creating a less than adequate film. creating the simpsons movie was a big challenge as we had so far only seen an adenture slotted into 30minutes, if that including breaks. i thought that the film had a real storyline to it, and it made it more watchable then just one big long laugh. although the laughs many of them were fantastic so memorable you found yourself repeating them to urselves over and over again.all in all if you miss watching the simpsons on the big screen you are just one big donut. haha
evie, bristol,
Couldn't wait to see this film, I am a big fan of The simpsons, but I am bitterly dissapointed. The film is aimed at a younger audience and this became apparent when a young, summer-holiday audience cried with laughter as Homer fell through the roof. The trailers spoiled "Spider-Pig" and the only real belly laugh was Lenny's joke about "black alert". Watchable, but does not live anywhere near up to the hype.
Glenn, Brentwood, Essex,
This movie was great. I had a feeling going into it that i would be let down, I've been looking forward to it for so long that it couldn't possibly live up to my expectations. But it was great, I was not disappointed.
Angel, pomona,
Caught the sneak peak on Thurs. Movie was great. It is different to see it on a bigger screen. Very Epic though. Much more grand of a scale. Animation and graphics were great!
My main complaint was why do they have to show so many funny moments in the trailers?? It was great to see how all the moments in the trailers tie together. But I hate having so much leaked out. Some of the funniest moments in the movie were not the funniest moments in the theater. We have already seen them. Moments like Spiderpig, and Barts' wee wee, and Homer overwhipping the dogs. People are going to see the movie anyways. Don't spoil it!!!
Matt, Davenport,
It was a good movie, but they did preview too much on T.V, they needed to keep more of it hidden,
joel, Newcastle, Australia
Went to see this film today in Leeds, WOW - the longest episode of The simpsons i have seen, My little Brother was so excited to see it. It must of been the best hours sleep he has had in a while!!! It was boring.
It lacks everything they focused too much on one aspect, not enough on all the characters. The same as any other recent comedy, they put the good bits on the TV adverts to make you go watch it. A waste of £6 in my opinion!!!
If you want to see it, wait for it on DvD - i was pretty peeved.
Laura Green, Leeds, West Yorkshire
I watched it last night, and i have to say that i loved it to bits. One of the best films that i have seen in a long time.
Sumario, Bristol,
Disagree with the neg points. Wonderful effort, Simpsons people. The big danger was going over old ground which I think on the whole they did not. There was a real sense of danger that hasn't really existed before in the TV series. I had real laughter sweat! Well done Matt & Co.
Matt, Newcastle, Australia
I am shocked reading all these positive comments. To me this film was a stupendous disappointment. The satire was weak, the wit was dulled and the plot was far too politically motivated. Surely The Simpsons is at its best when it makes observations about the absurdity of the human condition rather than preaching a political message? Bart is given a storyline that is barely developed or particularly compelling. Lisa's storyline is bizarre and far too tangental and not even remotely developed. Homer is not anywhere near as funny as he is even in the worst TV episodes. Then there is the wonderful and staggering amount of supporting cast in Springfield that barely get a look in at all. This is no monorail episode, no Stonecutters episode and it is certainly nowhere near a Hank Scorpio episode.
As a huge Simpsons fan I was extremely disappointed.
Patrick, Drogheda, Ireland
I'm a big Simpsons fan, but I thought the movie was just a 22-minute episode strung out for 85 minutes. It lacked the constant laughs you get on TV.
I think it was aimed at a younger audience than the TV show. Matt Groening has said in the past that on television, you can reach an audience of all age groups. But I didn't think there was much for adults in the movie.
I think it was a mistake to produce a film while the TV series is still running, because it cannot move the story forward in the way that the Star Trek films could. Just like a regular Simpsons episode, everything has to 'go back to normal' at the end of the film.
But despite my disappointment, there were still some great moments, usually involving Homer and the pig. And the emotional scene with Marge and a video tape might leave you in tears.
Dominic Birch, Norwich, UK
How many people are going to say "I was worried because the latest episodes haven't been great" did anyone think to read that it is the original writers that wrote the movie?
Anyways just back from seeing it, some funny bits (all of them in the trailer) but didn't feel it had the impact it could have. Not as funny some of my fav episodes such as The Cartridge Family or Two Bad Neighbours.
Still good to see it on the big screen but as a huge fan I probably went in with my expectations to high. Not enough Mr Burns!! Or Ralph or Skinner.
Tommy, Belfast, Ireland
Just saw the Simpsons Movie and found it excellent, clearing the best Simpsons viewing to date. I have thought in recent times the high standard of the simpsons had been sliced in half so i had reservations about the film, especially because it was a pg, hardly The Simpsons usual target audience. However, it is an astonishing piece of work and has laughs for everyone, including a few that take some thought to get, not just in your face ball smacking comedy often seen in The Simpsons. The plot did tie in with modern concerns ie global warming etc but in a humerous and ingenios manner. Love, near loss and great humour feature and in disagreement to a comment posted lets hope this paves the way for other tv shows to do the same thing, namely FRIENDS! fingers crossed
Peter Davidosn, Banbridge, Northern Ireland
i will try and do a review without spoiling the storyline for everyone.
it's pretty funny but i feel the tagetted agegroup is somewhat younger with this movie.
i don't know but seems to me there were less intellegent jokes than on the tv series.
it was all in all a good movie with the characters we all love like, ralphie's remarks and so on.
so it's good, tense and funny, just not so intellegent as i thought it would be.still good to watch though.even emotional at some point.
kanakaris nico, maasmechelen, belgium
Watched the film last night and I must say I thought it lived up to be the best simpsons made to date. Lots and lots of laugh out loud funny moments. If you even only slightly like the simpsons then its a must see. With out a dought watching it on the big screen makes all the difference. You just en up laughing with the audience even with the bits that your not sure whats going on. Its brilliant and gets the big thumbs up from me, so stop reading this and go and see it nowwwwwwwwwwwww.
Neil, Ballymoney, Northern Ireland
This "reveal" is pretty lightheaded and giddy and littered with imprecisions, which is bad enough, but they waited far too late to make a Simpsons movie, breathtakingly imaginative title and all, since that formerly cutting-edge show hasn't been any good in years. I quit watching its stale humor entirely 4 seasons ago. I hope this overblown cinematic version doesn't somehow result in a Please Make It Stop! extension to [scary thought] 22 or 23 seasons, or even worse lead to a theatrical release of Family Guy!
KenSirhan, Washington DC, USA! USA!
I was amused enough to laugh out loud at this review.. spiderpig! spiderpig! I'm so excited to see it
Danielle Farrar, San Mateo, CA
Even with the "spoiler" warning above, one would have thought that there was an actual review of the movie to come - but it's just the entire movie scenario! Anyone could have watched the movie and written down everything they saw... how about an actual review next time?
Robert, Lake Oswego, Oregon USA
As if I'm not going to see the movie after reading this review..... like all good Simpsons episodes I'll hopefully watch it/relive it over a few duffs again and again!
Kevin Gannon, London,
If you decide to go, or not go, to a Simpsonâs movie based on knowing too much of the plot, you are missing the pointâ¦
Timothy Angels, Portland, USA
John Millar, Stromeferry
You should do a little more looking into American sit-coms before saying all of them besides the Simpsons feature nice, successful, good-looking people who stand around making elegant, witty conversation. We have plenty of losers that we laugh at as well. Ever heard of George Castanza and Kramer of "Seinfeld"? How about Al Bundy from "Married with Children"? Ever heard of "The King of Queens", "My Name is Earl", "King of the Hill", "Ugly Betty", "Everybody Loves Raymond", etc. etc. etc.? You can even go back into the past and cite "Gilligans Island" and "Sanford and Son" as featuring losers, bozos, and unattractive people who are hilarious. There is a lot more to American sit-coms than you apparently are aware...
Jack, Tulsa, OK
Cheers... really looking forward to going to see it now you've told me what happens.
I only expected a few lines saying whether its any good or not.
Victoria, London,
All American sitcoms "feature nice, successful, good-looking people"? Let's see, the top rank of the genre would have to include The Honeymooners, The Adams Family, The Beverly Hillbillies (well, ok), Mork and Mindy, All in the Family, Rosanne, and Married with Children. Well, there's always Mr Ed.
madprof, Livingston, MT,
It does actually say 'beware spoilers' above so I don't think complaining about that is any use. I really enjoyed the review.
Ewan, London, UK
It's interesting that all American sit-coms feature nice, successful, good-looking people who stand around making elegant, witty conversation. I remember someone pointing out that the main difference between British sit-coms and American sit-coms is that the Brits like to laugh at losers (Tony Hancock, Alf Garnett, The Steptoes, David Brent) while the Yanks apparently want to aspire to be like these witty, elegant people (Friends). There's also the small matter of the advertising people who don't want 'their' programme to be associated with losers. And yet the Simpsons breaks the mould. Homer could be Alf Garnett out of 'Til Death Us Do Part'. So, could the Simpsons have been successful in America if it had been made with real people?
John Millar, Stromeferry,
Too many spoilers. I glanced over it looking for actual review and found it spread thin over essentially a plot summary. Movie reviews should be the opposite; a short, vague plot overview spread over mostly review. Most people read reviews BEFORE they see the movie so they can, you know, gauge whether or not to actually see the movie in question. That's kind of the purpose of reviews. Why would you read a review after you've seen the movie? At the very least there should have been a final paragraph summarizing the quality of the movie.
Alex, Minneapolis, MN, USA
Difference between a Film Reviewer and a film critic? A film critic tells you what happens in the film.
As Stephen Fry expertly put it, when a film critic reaches the pearly gates, St Peter will probably say something along the lines of: "so, God gave you a brain, two legs and two arms - what did you do with it?"
"Well, I looked at the work other people had done, and said 'hmm, that doesn't quite work does it?'"
Useless wastes of space spoiling it for everyone else. Thanks a bunch James.
Nicholas Ord, Guildford, UK
Spoiled. Thanks:(
Gavin, London,
To CM, Nottingham: I would have thought the whole idea of a movie review is to "review the movie" which, by its very nature, makes "spoiling" the plot a certainty. Perhaps in future you should consider seeing the movie before reading the review. Mac, Perth, Australia.
Gary MacFarles, Perth, Australia
Where does it say, "Beware Spoilers"??? Doh!
Michael D, Chorley,
Perhaps 'Have Your Say' should preceede the review. There's far more critical comment here than can be found elswewhere!
Justin Ramsay, Belfast, Northern Ireland
Agree with many comments here; beyond the first line this is too full of spoilers, information and a timeline based account than a review of one of the most eagarly anticipated films of this year (all the thirds of trilogys have been a bit pants).
Respectfully suggest reviewer reviews the way in which many handled the new Harry Potter book; information of whether it stands or falls, but not giving away the book
David, Reading,
Nice to see you've amended the text and added "[Beware spoilers]" to the title on this page - however the link from the Times homepage doesn't show it...and, not being one who wants to read the title twice I skipped the title here...and I've now been spoiled.
Please, a little more consideration for the reader who hasn't seen the film yet and just wants to read a film review.
CM, Nottingham,
The four stars would have sufficed. The rest of your review just details the plot. You should have reviewed Harry Potter instead.
Michael Bellfield, NY, NY
The only donkey thats mentioned Superman is "Martin Hepton" making comment on the review. How can someone do a review without discussing the film, you try doing it, its a little hard.!!!
Its a no brainer going to see this film after so many episodes really. Dont expect to much from the norm.
Kevin, Wimnchester,
This isn't a review. This is a blow-by-blow account of what happens.
Anthony, Hamilton, Bermuda
Ummm....James...perhaps you should watch the tv series. Maggie already said her first word (courtesy of Elizabeth Taylor): it was "daddy."
Robert , Cambridge, USA
thanks for spoling it
chetas, croydon,
That's not a critic, it's a detailed spoiler. Reader, beware.
Jeremy Zeegers, Brussels,
hey ..singing spiderman over superman theme? DOH!
Martin Hepton, silves , portugal
hey, homer sings 'spiderpig' to the Spiderman theme, not the Superman one
Arjun, New Delhi,
So, is it any good? (Not managed to pick up a "copy" yet.)
Shanghai Bob, Shanghai , PRC
Is this a review or a list of spoilers?
Erez, Jerusalem, Israel
It's the Spiderman theme, not Superman...you'd think the use of the name "Spiderpig" might have been a clue.
Ed W, London,
Thanks for all the spoilers James. Keen to show us what an observant fellow you are eh?
SteveM, Bolton, UK
I'm eager to see the move. But the reviewer is not a great fan. Lisa has fallen in love, or at least had crushes, at least twice before. I'm sure Homer was singing the theme song to Spiderman (the tv cartoon series) rather than Superman.
James Lachowsky, Swindon, Wiltshire
He walks the pig on the ceiling to the theme tune of Spiderman not Superman. Doh!
Max Welby, SEVENOAKS, KENT
