— Nottingham, Ridley Scott’s revisionist retelling of the story of Robin Hood that paints the Sheriff of Nottingham as the good guy, has been put on hold. The film, which stars Russell Crowe as the Sheriff, was due to start shooting in early autumn. Concerns about a possible actors’ strike are among the reasons for the delay.

— The Thai martial arts star Tony Jaa took creative pressures on the set of Ong Bak 2 to heart, alledgedly disappearing into the jungle to meditate for two months. The Muay Thai expert, who was directing as well as starring in the movie, finally showed up this week on a Thai chat show. He explained his absence by saying that he was pursuing “his artistic quest”, which no doubt delighted the investors who claim that he massively overspent on the agreed budget of the film.
