Sienna Miller made a brief stop to launch a climate change campaign today backed by Bollywood film stars.
The Factory Girl star dropped in to promote a new collaboration between environmental campaigners and Bollywood's equivalent to the Oscars.
Miller, 25, is planning to travel to India to witness first hand the effects of global warming.
Today she was at the launch of the International Indian Film Academy Weekend, to be held later this year in Sheffield, Bradford and Leeds.
The highlight of the weekend will be the film awards, taking place in Sheffield.
Event organisers have teamed up with Global Cool, which is campaigning to get a billion people around the world to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Miller said in a written statement: "I'm very excited about joining Global Cool and their campaign to tackle Global Warming.
"Climate Change is an issue that is going to affect us all unless we act now and I truly believe Global Cool's approach of encouraging individuals to reduce their energy use will go a long way to solving the problem.
"I would also like to say how grateful I am to the International Indian Film Academy for giving us the opportunity to spread our messages and tips to their audience of 400 million people around the globe."
The actress, said to be dating fox hunter Otis Ferry, added: "Simply making people aware of the effortless lifestyle changes they can make to reduce energy can potentially make a huge difference.
"I hope to travel to India in the near future to witness first hand the affects of global warming and to see how Global Cool's energy saving projects are developing."
Today's event saw the launch of the IIFA Bond for Global Cool, which will ask people to take action to make their lifestyles more eco-efficient.
Amitabh Bachchan, a top Bollywood film star who was also at today's event, said: "We aim to carry this message to a constituency of people who may otherwise be unaware of the serious impact of global warming.
"The smallest and simplest of changes will contribute to deferring the climatic tipping point."
Environment minister David Miliband said "mass mobilisation" was needed to bring about an end to climate change, adding "the Government just getting its act together and business just getting its act together is not going to solve it".
The awards, set up to promote Indian cinema to a global audience, take place in Yorkshire in June after the region beat New York, Rome, Barcelona, Marrakech, Melbourne and Hong Kong as the venue for 2007.
