Sarkar Raj
The Bachchan clan – Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai – star in Sarkar Raj, an overwrought thriller about big business in rural Maharashtra. The score is stridently overdramatic; the camerawork deranged. But most off-putting is the patronising storyline, which casts Abhishek Bachchan as an industrialist concerned, not with profit, but with the welfare of an ungrateful public.

Dear Ken, lets face it, this film is overdramatic and a bad work from RGV.
This film has several problems:
1. loud and bad background score
2. heavy dialogues upto the standard of being silly
3. lack of uniformity in pace of story
4. under-characterization of squeezed in roles (like Ash Rai)

"helo", first and foremost surely the person reviewing foreign film has to know wat the "indian" public r looking for,with the word you used, "overdramatic",that is exactly what bollywood is about. The film itself i watched it yesterday (6th june) and found power pact performances frm all the cast

Wendy dear wendy, tell me were you sleeping when the movie was on, you sure you saw Sarkar Raj and not Indiana Jones.

Abhishek Bachchan is not an industrialist in the movie - he is a politician who does not hesitate using violent means. Sarkar Raj is about politics in India. The score is over-dramatic, the camera work in keeping with the mood of the film and the storyline is clever and anything but patronizing.

Wendy, If you do not understand the historical background behind the story line do not try writing. It is a fundamental skill-set for a film critic (esspecially when reviewing a foreign film) that he/she does his/her basic research on the background and the canvas of the movie.
