Step Brothers
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are gloriously absurd slobs and 40-year-old children who are forced to share a bedroom when their single parents get married in Step Brothers. The fact that they look older than their parents is actually a slim joy. They hate each other, refuse to get jobs and drive their parents insane.
Adam McKay’s stoner comedy is just rude and sharp enough to touch a nerve with infantile adults. But the film is basically a one-trick pony. It starts flagging the moment that Ferrell and Reilly become best friends. Digestible if you can stomach the crude nostalgia. A disaster if you expect art and crafts.
