Redbelt - The Sunday Times review
This is another of those David Mamet films in which the central character learns that he can’t trust anybody around him. This time, however, there is nothing especially clever or dramatic about the reversal of fortune that befalls the protagonist, a noble jiujitsu instructor (Chiwetel Ejiofor). He’s the victim not of an elaborate con trick, but of a shabby rip-off. Mamet is more interested in our hero’s code of honour, which is gushingly celebrated in a climactic jiujitsu contest. Seemingly, Mamet intends this to have the irony-free spirit of a Rocky film, but he comes close to the stuff of a frat-pack sports-movie parody.

I thought the movie was great, very thoughtful and very intelligent, even tho it's slow paced, like a book, it's very entertaining and emotional, it's hardly a Rocky-like movie, but rather one about honor and how far are you willing to go to keep it, it was truly an art movie imo and i was impressed
