For three years after being forced from office, Nixon was silent. But in the summer of 1977, he agreed to one interview to answer the questions surrounding his time as president and the Watergate scandal. Nixon selected Frost as his interrogator, hoping to outwit the British entertainer and obtain a place in the hearts of Americans. But as the cameras rolled, an immense battle followed.
Frost/Nixon not only re-creates the on-air interview, but the weeks of behind-the-scenes manoeuvring between the two men and their camps, as deals were made and secrets revealed, leading to the moment when they faced each other.
