With the exception of the Listener, Mephisto and TLS acrostic, the puzzles can be solved interactively. The interactive versions give you the option of displaying the clues in three different sizes. After the solution has been published, you can reveal or check each individual clue or display the entire solution.

For prize crosswords, the interactive versions also give you the option of submitting your entry online.

For the printable versions, we offer two different printing options - black or grey grid (some members prefer to print grey grids to save on toner ink).

All crosswords are available online from the date they are published in the paper. The Listener and Mephisto crosswords are available online prior to the day of publication (the Listener at 4pm on a Friday, the Mephisto from 9pm on a Saturday).

Club archive

By joining the club, you can solve crosswords dating back to the year 2000. In total, there are more than 9,000 puzzles in our database for you to tackle. They can be searched for easily via our crossword search page.

Race-the-clock

Our daily race-the-clock game, available for the T2 concise, lets you pit your wits against other members and record how long it takes to complete the puzzle.

Club monthly

In addition to the puzzles from the paper, every month we set a special extra-difficult cryptic crossword which is exclusive to the club. There is a £100 prize for the first correct entry drawn.

Clue Challenge

Our monthly clue-setting challenge lets you try your hand at creating a clue for a cryptic crossword. All entries are analysed and commented on by the competition setter Roger Phillips. The best wins £50 and a place in the Clue Challenge hall of fame.
