Killer Su Doku is now available in our Killer Su Doku section.
How do I add/delete notes? (pencil marks/corner numbers)
To make a note of possible numbers in a cell use the Shift or Ctrl key whilst
typing the number. If you are using the number keypad, you will need to use
Ctrl. You can delete notes by using the same process to remove individual
numbers or use the 'delete' to clear the square. For further details please
click the 'Help' button within the application. Back to top
The links on the Su Doku home page don't seem to work
POP-UPS: The Su Doku website uses pop-up windows, but your browser may be set to disallow pop-ups.
To enable pop-up windows for www.puzzler.com in Internet Explorer: Tools menu, Pop-up blocker, Pop-up blocker settings. Type www.puzzler.com in the Address of Web site to allow box, then click Add. The security level needs to be set to Default: Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet options, Security. Check the Security level for this zone. The browser slider should be set to Medium. Alternatively, add timesonline.co.uk to the list of Trusted sites. Back to top
ADD-ONS: The website may not work with certain Add-ons, in particular, Google Toolbar, unless the Toolbar is tuned accordingly.
This is because most toolbars overwrite browser settings (eg, pop-up blocking). It is possible to disable specific Add-ons. To disable add-ons in Internet Explorer, Tools > Manage Addons - Enable or disable addons. Close your browser and restart. Back to top
How do I print the Puzzles?
All Su Doku puzzles are printable. You simply need to open your chosen puzzle
and then click the 'Print' button towards the top of the screen, next to the
Times Online logo. Back to top
The application is designed for a resolution of 1024*768. If you are looking at the application in 800*600, you may find that the 'Print' button is hidden over the top of the Times Online logo. Back to top
Can I increase the grid size when printing?
You can print the grid at a larger size by using your printer settings to scale the image up. Each printer will have it's own individual way of doing this, but in general you will be able to adjust the scale in the 'preferences' or 'advanced settings' when the grey printer window opens on your screen. Simply move the scale up from 100% to something like 125%. Back to top
Alternatively, PC users can look to use the 'print screen' key on your keyboard to copy the screen content, copy into Microsoft Paint, cut and copy the grid image and then paste into Word, from which you can increase the size of the image. This option can also be used if you want to print multiple grids on one sheet of paper. Back to top
Apple Mac users can use the 'Apple Grab' functionality to achieve a similar result. Back to top
A third of issues are due to people using an old or unsupported browser. Make sure you are working on an up-to-date browser. Our puzzles work on Internet Explorer 7.0 and above, Firefox 3.0 and above, Google Chrome 2.0 and above, and Safari 3.0 and above. Back to top
Where do I find the solutions?
The full solution is available by clicking the 'Grid' link under the 'Verfiy/Reveal' section at the top of the puzzle window. You can also reveal individual cell answers by clicking 'Cell'. Back to top
My company is blocking the puzzles
We are aware that some users are now unable to see the puzzles because the
company that they work for has blocked websites containing games or puzzles.
We are aware of this and will do our best to rectify it, however in some
cases this may be out of our control. Also take a look at the pop-ups
and add-ons FAQ. Back to top
Where are the Sunday puzzles?
At the moment, our online application only carries Su Doku puzzles from The Times. Back to top

The Times started the UK
Su Doku craze in November 2004 when the first Su Doku puzzle was published in Times2. It is now the paper's most popular puzzle.
If you've managed to avoid it until now and fancy giving it a go then it's simple to learn, requires no mathematical knowledge and is a great test of logic. Take a look at our How to Play Su Doku guide.
Please click the 'Help' button on any puzzle if you need help with our application.
