The full line-up of this year’s Glastonbury Festival was unveiled this morning, with Arctic Monkeys, The Who and The Killers set to headline the main Pyramid stage during the three-day festival.
Kasabian, The Fratellis, Bloc Party and The Kooks will also play the main stage.
The event, which starts on June 22, will also feature Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Rufus Wainwright, The Gossip, Chemical Brothers and Shirley Bassey.
Headlining the second Other Stage will be Babyshambles, Bjork, The Coral, and Editors.
Additional to the Pyramid Stage and the Other Stage, there will be more than 30 other stages, tents, cafes and bandstands filled with live acts
Festival organiser Michael Eavis said he was delighted with the line-up of more than 200 acts.
“You could not dream up what has happened to this festival. It never fails to amaze me."
He said, however, that the big-name acts had not been hard to lure this year.
“Believe it or not, it gets easier every year. People really want to play and get involved these days."
Despite the big-name pop acts, the organiser said he was most looking forward to watching the American singer John Fogerty perform on the Jazz World Stage.
"They are on the Jazz World stage at eight o'clock so I will be dashing over to the main stage to see The Killers afterwards."
The Somerset festival will be bigger than ever before after Mendip District Council gave Eavis permission to increase the capacity.
The new four-year licence allows 177,500 people to attend but the event has already sold-out. It is the first time the festival has been given a long-term licence and Eavis said future festivals could now be organised further in advance.
This year, festivalgoers will be asked to think of climate change and reduce their carbon footprint. They will be washing in carbon neutral showers and supplied with recycled toilet paper. Organic food will be available and revellers will be invited to join the I Count campaign, which details 16 steps to reduce environmental impact.
A small number of cancelled tickets will go on sale on the See Tickets website on Sunday, organisers said.
