Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger have enjoyed mixed fortunes since their time in the band.
Victoria Beckham, 33, is the only Spice Girl not to have enjoyed a solo number one. She lost out to Sophie Ellis Bextor when they went head-to-head in 2000.
After being dropped by record label Virgin, she released an independent double A-side This Groove/Let Your Head Go, which reached number three in the charts.
Since then, Posh has made a name for herself as a fashion icon and jeans designer.
Together with husband David Beckham, the jeans designer now has her sights set on conquering the US. Her A-List friends in Los Angeles, where the family are hoping to become the next big thing, include Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
Posh Spice became the first member of the band to get engaged when she announced in 1998 plans to marry Manchester United and England star Beckham.
The pair, who now have three children - Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, four, and Cruz, two - became one of the world's most famous couples.
Posh Spice is by far the richest of the group - she and her husband are said to have a combined fortune of £130 million.
Since leaving the Spice Girls, her fame at times has been eclipsed by her husband's.
She is said to want to be taken seriously as a pop artist again.
Melanie Brown, 32, was dropped by her record label when her debut album, Hot, peaked at number 28.
In the same year she divorced Jimmy Gulzar, the father of her daughter, Phoenix Chi, eight.
