LONDON A rock concert featuring the Rolling Stones and Pete Townshend, the former guitarist of The Who, will also feature the return to the stage of Led Zeppelin.

It will be the first time Zeppelin will have played a full set together since they disbanded 27 years ago after the death of John Bonham, their drummer. The band’s original members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones will be joined on drums by Bonham’s son, Jason. The concert, at the O2 arena in London in November, is being held in memory of Ahmet Ertegun, the Atlantic Records founder who died last year and was a mentor to both Zeppelin and the Stones. Bill Wyman, the former bass player, will be reunited with the Stones at the concert after he quit the band in 1993. Plant, Zeppelin’s 58-year-old singer, said: “During the Zeppelin years, Ahmet Ertegun was a major foundation of solidarity and accord. This performance stands alone as our tribute to the work and the life of our long-standing friend.” Tickets cost £125 and can only be bought by ballot at www.ahmettribute.com.

Harvey Goldsmith, the promoter, said: “There are going to be two or three more stars as surprises added to the lineup.”
