Rihanna, who topped the UK chart for 10 weeks with monster hit Umbrella, was named Best Urban Act, Nelly Furtado won Album of the Year for Loose, and Linkin Park were named Band of 2007.
There were also performances by the Foo Fighters and Mika, while Joss Stone, tennis ace Boris Becker, Chelsea player Didier Drogba, model Lily Cole and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton presented awards.
