TRACK OF THE DAY: Hang Them All
WHO: Tapes n’ Tapes
WHAT: Minnesota's Tapes n’ Tapes were without question one of the most buzzed bands of 2006. Since then, well, not a lot happened but now they return with a comeback single that proves they do indeed live up to the hype.
THE HYPE: ‘With a too-damn-funky-for-its-own-good bassline that may well have been pinched from a flashy Seventies cop show, there are very few ways future freakbeat Tapes n’ Tapes could scrawl their way into our bad books’
WE SAY: More mature than the first album, Hang Them All, strips down to a nitty-gritty indie pop anthem with Josh Grier’s seething vocals over a whirring synth-line.
IF YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW ONE THING: As well as the album being called Walk it Off, the boys are sponsoring and encouraging fans to participate in a Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk, where if you register under Team Tapes n' Tapes you’ll be in with a chance of winning some signed goods.
WHEN CAN I GET MY HANDS ON IT: Debut album The Loon is out worldwide now, with Walk It Off following in a few weeks time.
