WHO: Flavour of the month, brassy new rave four piece, fittingly hailing from the spiritual home of rock, Castle Donnington.

WHAT: Synth-thrashing, snotty upstart Europop.

WE SAY: If Stephen Hawking could open a black hole with his bare hands, it would still compare unfavourably to what these kids have done and could do.

After building George Clinton out of Sega Megadrives with their last single The Bears Are Coming, Space And the Woods forges stout metal riffs and widdly solos using only a humble keyboard. They’ve basically managed to simulate what it would sound like if Hadouken were offered a toss up of doing Gary Numan’s Cars or Paranoid by Black Sabbath at the karaoke – and instead decided to do both at the same time. Lord knows what sort of damage an entire album could do.

IF YOU ONLY NEED TO KNOW ONE THING: Dancefloor acceptance should be pretty much in the bag, thanks to indie remix king Erol Alkan, who did all the production button pushing.
