The United Kingdom's hope for glory in this year's 53rd annual Eurovision Song Contest has been marked by bookies as its worst ever entrant.
The odds for Andy Abraham and his track Even If? 66-1.
Host Sir Terry Wogan recently said the song was "the best UK entry for a while." But Eurovision has become something of a showcase for bizarre performances and bad music, the pitfalls of which Abraham will want to avoid.
The past decade has been a rocky path for Britain at Eurovision, yielding just one top ten finish since 1998's runner-up placement for Imaani's Where Are You? The last time a UK entrant won the competition was in 1997 for Katrina and the Waves' Love Shine a Light.
Abraham might not expect better than top 10 placement in the finals this year, but the 43-year-old singer would do well to simply steer clear of the company of some of the UK's most miserable showings.
