WE SAY: FrYars is the alter-ego of London boy Ben Garrett, who has a talent that sounds far more mature than his 19 years.

His new single, Visitors, marries up-tempo bleeps and beats with a laid-back feel to create a highly polished piece of electro pop. His haunting vocals are nicely complemented by the guest backing vocalist - none other than Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode.

Whether frYars' take on the synth-noir genre can go on to emulate Gahan's success remains to be seen. Either way this track is a must listen - and you can download it for free.

FrYars has opted to release Visitors and his upcoming album, Dark Young Hearts, through a combination of his own label, frYarcorp, and the website Bandstocks. A very wise move at a time when so many indie shops and distributors are closing down - proving that his business sense is every bit as original and sharp as his music.
