1746BST: Jackson's death is leaving its mark on Glastonbury. Our Chief Pop Critic, Pete Paphides reports: "From several of the public address systems that scattered the crowded thoroughfares an almighty sound collage of Michael Jackson songs permeated the muggy air. The self-styled King of Pop may not, in his lifetime had any awareness of the mother of all festivals. But his death had an unlikely effect on it. For the first time in recent history, the heavens opened and, actually, no-one seemed too bothered. One member of the group Friendly Fires was overheard uttering that, “even as we speak, ropey versions of Michael Jackson songs are being hastily rehearsed.”
1729BST: TMZ.com is reporting that the mother of two of Jackson's children, Debbie Rowe, will be able to gain custody of those children is she wants to.
The site says: "It has been widely reported Debbie Rowe gave up her parental rights to Paris and Michael Jr. That is not true.
During the custody fight that Rowe had with Jackson in 2005, she attempted to give up her parental rights, saying Michael was the greatest father ever. Retired Judge Stephen Lachs, who presided over the hearing, initially ruled her rights were terminated ... but then Lachs reversed his decision.
Here's what happened. We spoke with Lance Spiegel, the lawyer who repped Jackson at the time. Spiegel says under the law, the Department of Children and Family Services must conduct a parental fitness investigation before parental rights are terminated and that didn't happen with Rowe.
So Rowe has never given up any of her parental rights. As a result, under California law, Rowe is now presumed to be the person who will get custody. The only way Rowe can be denied custody is if a court determines it would be "detrimental to the children.""
1722BST: AFP reports: "As dawn broke across a shell-shocked Los Angeles, hundreds of fans descended on Hollywood Boulevard’s “Walk of Fame”, the stretch of sidewalk where celebrities are immortalized with stars set into concrete. A makeshift shrine was slowly being built around Jackson’s star, with fans leaving candles, flowers, personal letters, teddy bears, balloons and paintings in his honor.
“This is my last opportunity to pay tribute to a hero, we love Michael Jackson and the whole world will miss him,” [said] one fan, Nan Khan."
1644BST: The reporting of Michael Jackson's death represents a coming of age for the internet, as it was a celebrity news website that broke the story. We look into the story's effect on the internet here, but many were unwilling to believe TMZ.com's initial reports.
“We're getting calls from everyone under the sun, established news operations, asking, ’Are you sure?’” TMZ managing editor Harvey Levin told the Los Angeles Times. “That’s such an odd question. We would not have published it if it were not true.”
1624BST: Rolling Stone, in a nice piece about reaction from the streets of New York, reports: "Around the corner on 42nd, Madame Tussaud’s wax museum put MJ on display in the front window. “We love you Michael!” a passerby shouted. “It’s kinda eerie,” Delma Noel Pratt from Miramar, Florida, 39, said, staring at the statue after snapping a few photos."
1612BST: Over at Wimbledon, women's second seed Serena Williams said he was the “greatest entertainer of all time” and the “ultimate celebrity”. Ms Williams, who knew the singer, said: “He was a great guy, a complete icon, words can’t express my shock and horror. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family."
