Mumford & Sons are fast making a name for themselves as the saviours of folk.

Their debut album, Sigh No More, released last month, took them to No 11 on the charts and saw them pegged as a band to watch, but it is their live shows that have really had critics and fans in a spin.

After seeing them at London’s ICA, The Times reviewer Lisa Verico wrote: “The quintet attacked instruments including a double bass, banjo, trombone and fiddle with a passion that made the floor shake and the audience - half serious folkies, half hip kids - whoop.”

Now, the band is taking their live show to Germany and they’re taking us with them… well sort of. Double bassist Ted Dwane is a closet photography nut and has agreed to document their journey and backstage shenanigans and share them with Times Online readers.

His first album will be right here on the Times Online music site next Wednesday (November 18), with his second installment arriving a week later (November 25).
