You've got to hand it to Simon, he pulled it off. The advert was oh so terrible but at least we knew what they were on about - which is an awful lot more than can be said about the other lot. But when I saw Simon start to work on his “Reclaim your streets” rap (which I had assumed was a joke to annoy Tre) I would have bet big that Jadine and co were in trouble.
And that’s without the more fundamental issue that their idea stank. A bunch of business wannabes sitting in their suits going on about reclaiming urban style from evil corporations. Er, you are trying to get a job with Sir Alan Sugar. You sent in audition tapes saying how you want to billionaires. I kept waiting for one of them to twig. For someone to give Tre a slap and tell him to shut up about “cultural representations.” But the most likely person to inject some sense into an otherwise totally ridiculous conversation was Simon – and he seemed the most enthusiastic of all.
But the others were pathetic. Good to see “brand expert” Katie lose. Again. She can be good value but her set pieces are getting a bit dull. Thankfully, she seems to have sealed her fate with the “I know more than those ad men” attitude at the end. She only backed down and said her advert was rubbish because she sensed it was the expedient thing to do: but the damage was done.
Ghazal - just plain awful.
Jadine – also went on about reclaiming streets then put on a ridiculous posh accent when giving her pitch to the agency. Lohit - people seem to think he is going to suddenly perk up but he's been out of the game too long for any prodigal son stuff
Naomi – stop hanging around with Kristina, bad influence.
Kristina – was saying some quite sensible things but it’s not difficult to pick holes in Ghazal’s plan.
Simon – Yes I know he was good but lets not waste the opportunity to point out that in one dancing scene there was clear evidence of light (white?) socks with a dark suit. Tssk.

Getting rid of Adam was a bit like having your pet put down. Upsetting, painful even. But for the best and had to be done. At least his suffering is over. And ours. Yes he can sell a bit. But he couldn’t really do anything else. And he did seem to be universally loathed. This by a group that contains Jadine.
Then again anyone who can annoy evil Katie that much can’t be all bad. She really is a sour young hag. Telling Adam and the others they are less clever than her (and they probably are) is to be encouraged. But that business about Adam going back up north where he belongs was the first really low blow of the series. Sweetie.
