It might have taken him two months but Big Brother’s Brian Bello has finally confessed his love for doll-like twin Amanda (Mandy) Marchant.
Well, actually, the 22-year-old only confessed his like. But then, one can’t lay it on too thick with a 19-year-old prone to hysterics.
Early this morning, Bello managed to separate the infantile blonde from her twin long enough to bundle her into the Big Brother caravan, dive under the duvet away from the cameras and silently spell out “I like you”.
Long glances and giggling followed, prompting suggestions viewers could be about to see the birth of “Brandy”.
So far the Big Brother house has seen the rise and fall of “Chiggy,” (Chanelle Hayes and Ziggy Lichman) and the brief, brutally short “Lamy” phenomenom (Liam McGough and Amy Alexandra).
Made up of two of the most benign housemates, Brandy is unlikely to resemble either Chiggy or Lamy. Lichman dumped Hayes and reconciled with her twice before he finally ended the relationship. Shortly afterwards, a row between the pair was bilious enough to send Hayes packing.
Meanwhile McGough, originally deemed the nice guy of the show, has revealed a rather wounding modus operandi. The 22-year-old flirted incessantly with former contestant Nicky Maxwell, but when she became interested he swiftly withdrew his affections. Last week, he moved on to new arrival glamour model Amy Alexandra, flirting and kissing her before telling her he was merely interested in a friendship.
Bello is a different kettle of fish. Initially mocked for his ignorance (he didn’t know who Shakespeare was) and an appalling pants-wetting accident, he is now one of the most popular housemates, known for his good nature.
Today he told McGough that while he’s confessed his feelings, he doesn’t want to begin a relationship in public but hopes Marchant will see him when the show finishes.
