Hillary Clinton as Rocky Balboa? When the would-be Mrs President compared herself with the underdog boxer who makes it big, countless Americans snorted into their Barack Obama-embroidered handkerchiefs. OK, so she refuses to accept defeat. But surely there the similarities end. After all, it is Obama who has made the most of his inauspicious beginnings. If only Hillary had had access to the clever editing capabilities of this video-maker (tinyurl.com/678lh5), we might have been more inclined to believe her - although even she might have felt that the image of her head superimposed on to a pumped-up torso in the ring was a tactic too far.
Not to be outdone, John McCain is determined to prove his own athletic prowess. Or at least his alter ego is. Here (tinyurl.com/5hksqw), “McCain” runs and crawls up the “Rocky steps” (aka the Philadelphia Museum of Art), so-called because of their appearance in the film. Who says a 71-year-old's too old to be president?
Musicovery (www.musicovery.com) is a wonderful little internet radio application that allows you to pick songs based on your mood, as well as genre and decade. Choose between energetic, calm, positive and dark, and anywhere in between. The music mindmaps that appear as you make your choices are bright and easy to use, and best of all, the free application looks like a remote control and is appealingly unfussy, unlike the normal web (ha, ha) of options employed by most internet radio stations.
Apparently over-blogging can kill you. But the malnourished and sunlight-deprived bloggers who work in the blogging sweatshop don't have the time or resources to consider their options. One “victim” describes how he was smuggled here in a car (tinyurl.com/6pvybm) and is now forced to work all hours to pay off his debt, while he and his co-workers survive on bread and Red Bull. Documentary film-making at its finest.
