The most unpopular Big Brother housemate of all time, Alexandra DeGale, faces eviction after she received nine nominations from fellow contestants last night.
The 23-year-old south Londoner’s only hope of remaining on the Channel 4 show is Mario Marconi. The bodybuilder received seven nominations and faces the public vote on Friday alongside the single mother.
Both contestants have raised hackles during their fortnight in the house, with bookmakers proclaiming Alexandra the most unpopular housemate ever and predicting she will be evicted this week.
Ofcom received 443 complaints after Alexandra swore and yelled at housemates last week, and Big Brother gave her an official warning about her behaviour.
On last night’s show, she declined to join the other housemates in cross-dressing for Mohamed Mohamed’s birthday party and later got into a row with the toy demonstrator after she discovered he had talked about her refusal to participate in the Diary Room.
Alexandra was surprised to be told she was up for eviction, saying: “Are you joking?”
Mario is the second least popular housemate of the series. The 43-year-old, who entered the house with his partner Lisa Appleton, has been criticised for his arrogance and mocked after announcing he had a wide “fan base” because he had once appeared on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Liverpudlian student Stephanie McMichael became the first housemate to be evicted last Friday.
