Attend an evening with Andre Agassi

In 1994 Glastonbury enjoyed one of its drier, hotter years and, technically, a vintage year for the music (a young Radiohead, Blur and Oasis in their Britpop ascendence, and the cockle-warming Manic Street Preachers calling for “a bypass to be built through this s***hole”). It was also a turning point - for the first time the festival was televised (courtesy of Channel 4). The BBC took over in 1997 in a sponsorship deal, and before you could say “on-site cash machine”, up popped stage-side video screens, a “superfence”, mobile masts and 280 BBC staff dashing between every stage from the Pyramid to the Igloo. Bad news for travellers and impoverished students; good news for armchair, mud-hating slobs who like their Later with Jools. For their Schadenfreude-spiked pleasure, the following line-up beckons...
