16. The arrival of Maysoon, Sara and Belinda
As Jen exited the house, ending a torturous psuedo-relationship with Dale, model Maysoon, Angelina Jolie look-a-like Sara and thespian Belinda entered the house. Would they shake things up? Oh yes.
It wasn't that a Sylvester Stallone look-a-like was getting about on TV wearing pale green exfoliating gloves and a flannel on his head. It wasn't that a female body builder was regularly cupping her breast implants to allow a clear shot at her back.
The intrigue was in how Lisa had any skin left after weeks of being exfoliated daily by a muscle-bound giant who looked to be using brute force.
She was a theatre luvvie who adored singing, but despite her incessant impromptu jazz tunes, it was the nocturnal noise that Belinda Belinda Belinda created that really got to her fellow housemates.
In the end the room-shaking snorts saw her evicted after only two weeks on the show.
During her long stint in the Big Brother house, the always wide-eyed Lisa told a series of dazzling, other-worldly tales. Her stories took in out-of-body experiences, elite guinea pigs, and human cases of myximitosis. But the story to end all stories involved a green alien that visited her camp site and stole her tent.
For 58 days, housemates put up with Rex beginning every sentence with “My girlfriend…” And then she was there. Emerging from the food cupboard as Big Brother’s ever-changing prize number 57, she leapt into Rex’s arms and TV’s most trying and tempestuous couple was before us.
