Opie and Anthony
Shock jockery moves to the next generation, with North American satellite radio stars Opie and Anthony, whose lewd material includes inciting couples to have sex in public places.
In May last year the pair were suspended for 30 days from their radio station XM for sexually comments made on their show about US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, first lady Laura Bush, and The Queen.

Don Imus
Veteran US shock jock and on air prankster Don Imus also got into trouble last year for his WFAN radio show, simultaneously broadcast over TV channel MSNBC. During the 1980s, Imus worked alongside Stern at WNBC, where he became best know for his fictional character, an evangelist preacher named Billy Sol Hargus.
In an on-air discussion with a contributor. Imus used the racial slur “nappy-headed hoes” to describe members of a women’s basketball team. His public apology failed to save him his job.

Rush Limbaugh
Rush Limbaugh has been lambasted for going just that bit too far. He hit the headlines recently after accusing Michael J Fox of exaggerating the physical symptoms of Parkinson's Disease after the actor took part in a politcal advertisement. Limbaugh has also made the news with his attacks on Barack Obama.
Limbaugh resigned from an earlier television show in 2003 after a storm erupted over a racially-charged comment.
