Celebrity Big Brother housemates chose to save ex-boy band singer Ben Adams from the public vote.

As head of the house, radio presenter Terry Christian had nominated three contestants to face the chop.

He chose Ulrika Jonsson for having the biggest ego, Lucy Pinder for being the least talented and Adams for having the least integrity.

In a live show on Channel Four last night, the trio were moved to a separate room and looked on as it was revealed to the house why Christian had opted for them.

The remaining housemates, excluding the DJ, were then given just 30 seconds to choose which one of the three to save, with Adams receiving five of the seven votes.

Tina Malone backed Jonsson, while singer Mutya Buena chose Pinder.

The group now faces an awkward few days in the run-up to Friday's public vote, when Jonsson or Pinder face eviction.

Christian has had attention lavished upon him as head of the house.

Big Brother gave the former Word presenter a king costume and instructed him not to lift a finger all day.

Housemates were told he must be carried everywhere and must not even feed himself.

Tension also erupted as rapper Coolio was forced to apologise to former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton.

He reduced her to tears with taunts that there was attraction between her and Adams.

Verne Troyer spoke about the late Heath Ledger when talking about the greatest actors he had worked with.

"He was a genuine nice guy," said Troyer, adding that Ledger would help anyone struggling during filming.

"This is where I got the heart," he said, showing the rest of the housemates a tattoo on his hand which is a replica of a scribble Ledger gave him prior to his death.

"It's in remembrance and also just to let me know that life is short and you don't know what is going to happen.

"The brief time that I knew him, he made such an impression on me. I was blown away by what happened. It's still hard to talk about."
