Ooh! He’s behind you...

MATT LUCAS, the enfant terrible of British comedy, becomes a Prince Charming today as he turns his gay “wedding” into a celebration of British pantomime.

His fellow Little Britain star, David Walliams, is expected to turn up as Widow Twankey to see Lucas pledge his love for Kevin McGee, a BBC television producer.

The civil partnership ceremony is due to be staged at the Royal Court theatre in Chelsea, west London.

It is the biggest showbusiness ceremony of its kind since Sir Elton John and David Furnish underwent one of Britain’s first civil partnerships a year ago. They cemented their relationship at Windsor Guildhall where the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles were married.

The 500 guests at today’s ceremony have been asked to turn up in theatrical costume to celebrate the “best of British panto”.

The theatre, showing Drunk Enough to Say I Love You? and Catch, refused to comment. But Lucas and McGee are known to have looked at costumes from Aladdin, Mother Goose and Peter Pan.

Lucas has also bought all 15 of the costumes that he wore playing Mr Toad in a BBC1 version of The Wind in the Willows to be shown on New Year’s Day.

Guests are expected to include John, Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys and Sacha Baron Cohen (alias Ali G and Borat).
