Los Angeles is braced for the release of Paris Hilton from prison tomorrow.
The hotel heiress, socialite and television personality is to be released after serving 23 days of a 45-day prison sentence for violating probation rules over her conviction for alcohol-related reckless driving.
The Los Angeles Times reported today that residents in Hilton’s exclusive enclave in the Hollywood Hills above Sunset Boulevard had distributed leaflets protesting about the celebrity's return.
They have called on authorities to crack down on paparazzi and media in order to avoid a repeat of the circus that surrounded Hilton’s extraordinary police convoy to a Los Angeles court-room on June 8.
“Dear Neighbor, since the arrival of Paris Hilton to our neighborhood, we’ve seen our quality of life deteriorate,” the leaflet reads. “We feel we need to take a united stand. The circus will resume next week when she gets out of jail."
Neighbours have complained that as well as the habitual presence of paparazzi, Hilton’s home has also hosted wild parties that have shattered the calm of the area.
“We shouldn’t have to absorb all of this because of one person. Why must we put up with all her baggage?” Selby Segall, 75, said.
City authorities have declared the streets surrounding Hilton’s home a no-parking zone in order to ease congestion, as the media prepares to cover her release from tomorrow but news crews were already setting up outside the Century Regional Detention Facility today in case Hilton is smuggled out of custody early.
Reports Monday quoted Hilton’s family and friends as saying that a “quiet gathering” was being planned for the socialite’s release, playing down speculation of a lavish bash in Las Vegas. A spokeswoman for the Hilton family said she “can’t wait to take that orange suit off."
“Paris is doing really well, she is really looking forward to going home, and she thanks you in the press who supported her,” she said. “She wants to be with the family."
Hilton’s first post-prison interview will be held with veteran CNN anchor Larry King on Wednesday. The network and a spokesman for Hilton said the 26-year-old would not receive payment for the interview.
In a statement released through her publicist, Hilton said she was pleased to be telling her side of the story on King’s show.
“I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his program to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about,” she said.

Oh poor poor Paris, i am glad the authorities made an example of her by putting her behind bars, sure i watched her show, but seriously how long are "stars" going to get away with behaviour that would put anyone of us behind bars? i think she has ALOT of growing up to do and hopefully she will come out a changed woman, however i highly doubt it.
Goes to show, money and fame dont bring happiness....

oh brother. she did a whole 23 days in jail. and in 23 days more days she will be right back to her old tricks - breaking the law and thinking its cute, yelling out racial slurs at parties, etc...... be nice if Larry King would interview someone who was incarcerated in a real prison, done some real time in jail (like 10 or 15 years) and found to be innocent. imagine that a story like that. what the heck can she possibly learn? how miserable it is to be without a cell phone? no privacy while you pee? only one pair of shoes? blah, blah, blah, Paris. you're now officially an EX-CON.
Robin, Los Angeles, CA
what a bunch of crie babies. They should be glad to have a celebrity neighor. This increases their house values. Of course they don't complain about that. The 75 year old guy probably can't hear well, so what's he complaining about. He should be happy to be able to read.
rona alice schasktzy, LA hollywood,
I think Paris deserve a second chance y and also she must have been learnt a lot of things and one of them surely is don`t disturb at the neighboor and the people who goes near her

How could one not LOVE Paris Hilton? Do we smell jealousy all around the world? How many of you wouldn't love to make money from supposedly doing nothing? Since when is it a crime to profit from having a fun and entertaining life? I bet all the nay sayers out there, would gloat in glory if given a chance to live like Paris for a day! I say Kudos to Paris and her family. Living the American Dream and getting paid to love life.

Paris you need to get a life go to college and get some self respect The world sees you as a ditsy blonde with no common sence. Maybe if you applied yourself and went back to school you could drop the poor me little rich girl, There are kids out there wanting a good education and can't afford it. You can afford it but choose to remain stupid acting.
Get real in Iowa.
